Often times, people don’t know who they should visit when they have a health problem: a chiropractor or an osteopath, a physiotherapist or an acupuncturist, etc. Does that sound familiar? Ultimately, it is your body and your choice from whom to seek treatment. The responsibility is yours to educate yourself as to what you think best suits your health concerns and then seek that out. All therapists have their own ways of treating a common problem, but with different approaches and from a different mindset based on education or philosophy, eastern vs. western beliefs, etc. We will speak here as to what we do as chiropractors at Chiropractie Noordzee in hopes that this will help with your decision.
In our office, we take more of a “whole-body” chiropractic approach. By not focusing solely on one area of the body, we are able to see if, and where, compensation patterns may exist throughout the body, and thus where a possible problem is originating from or where there are other areas the problem is affecting. Also, we examine the body from a neuromusculoskeletal approach (nerve, muscle, and bone/joint), which means that we examine and treat muscles, joints, and nerve irritations, and then give you supportive exercises to aid in your treatment. The various parts of the neuromusculoskeletal system combine to work together in your body, so we try to address all these areas together. For more information on what chiropractic is, please read our Chiropractic page, and for more information on who and what we treat, please see the Patients/Conditions page.
So which therapy is right for you? Unfortunately, that is a question that only you can answer for yourself, either through research on the different specialties or by experiencing these different types of treatments. If you’re not sure if chiropractic therapy is right for you, feel free to contact us to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your problem to see if we can help. Improving your health may be just a phone call away.
